With Kish (Boys Correction/facility), we kept trying to set up times to take the team in to do ministry, but all they wanted to let us do was come take a tour. After we as a staff took a tour and connected to Sus and Soh, we talked to Nilang more about his perspective on the struggles with Kish. He told us all about the main structural issues as well as the state of abuse the boys were living in. After that we set up a training day with Nilang and 5 of the teachers that go into Kish. We, as an FCM staff (Foundation for Counseling Ministry), taught on physical/sexual abuse, it’s effects and ways to work with abuse victims to bring in healing. We also left HEAPS of abuse counselling resources with them to continue learning from. We also spent time talking with them about advocacy and things to fight the government on to bring a safer environment for the boys (ie: shower stalls, particular groups in each room rather than 18 yr olds with 5 yr olds…) It was a highly effective time! Huge awareness brought to the staff. We ran another counselling seminar where we taught the staff children’s counselling tools, activities and topics. They were sooooo hungry to learn. These seminar’s OPENED WIDE the doors for ministry inside Kish. Inside Kish, we were able to run 2 programs with 2 different groups of about 30 boys each. We shared a STRONG evangelistic message and gave lots of testimonies. Between those two groups, 16 boys gave their lives to the Lord and several were asking specifically for a book with more information about Jesus. They were hungry to know this Man! We were able to take in only 10 Bibles the first time and the teachers really wanted them as well so they could have at least one in every classroom. We took Muko in with us as a translator to connect with the boys in a more long term fashion. Nilang is going to allow him to come in regularly to teach the boys and share with them. He was sooooooo excited to go in with us as he’s been trying to find a way to get in there for a while! We participated in one of their cleaning days (and invited our Megacities coordinators along too). It went very well. As a team, we also have submitted an application to International Justice Mission to see if they can help intervene on behalf of the boys as well. We have heard that their main office has sent our application to their Kolkata office to be processed further. We’re amazed at all the Lord has done there so far and know He has more plans for them. Our team was SOOOOOO aware that we were standing on the shoulders of those who’d gone before us. We were sooooooo thankful for all of the hard work and faithfulness shown by every MC team (Megacities) before us. Thank you for planting seeds!!!!!

And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. 8And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out,“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.””
